Edo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a31-year-old woman, Abigail Oluwarotimi, for allegedly burning her domestic servant’s genital with a hot metal object.
The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday, 11 January, 2025, in Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area of the State.
In a statement released by the Command’s spokesman, Moses Yamu, the 15-year-old victim, Jude Joseph, sustained injuries in his lap and genital.

“The suspect heated a metal object in fire and used it to inflict burns on her house help.
“The suspect was promptly arrested. She confessed to the crime and blamed her action on the allegation that the boy molested her children.
”The victim is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital,” the statement reads.
However, the State Commissioner of Police, Umoru Ozigi, voiced concern over the situation and cautioned the public against resorting to vigilante actions, stressing the need to let the law take its course.
