WORRIED by the resurgence of kidnappings in Edo State, the state Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Dan Orbih on Monday at the small town of Ogbona, Estako Central Local Government Area said that it was shameful that the federal government could no longer secure the lives of Edo People and Nigerians.
Orbih who spoke at a rally to welcome 420 defectors from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) led by a former APC ward chairman in ward 4, Mr. Peter Itabor lamented the spate of insecurity in the state and country, particularly following the abduction of the APC chairman in Akoko Edo Local Government Council and four others in the state at the weekend.
The Edo PDP chairman told the cheering crowd that rising cases of abductions, bank robberies and criminality was an indication that the present government has failed to provide security for Nigerians, a cardinal programme of the administration.
He said it was crystal clear that Nigerians are frustrated and disappointed with the present leadership of the APC led government due to the insecurity and the ailing economy among other issues bedevilling the country.

Orbih urged the people to join the bandwagon and reject the clueless APC government both at the state and federal level as it has brought untold hardship on the common Nigerian.
He said: “The APC has failed in its primary responsibility of providing security to Nigerians. The broomstick which is the symbol of the APC stands for poverty and hardship while the umbrella, the symbol of the PDP stands for comfort. Now is the time to join us and rescue Nigeria.”
Itabor who spoke on behalf of the decampees said that he left the APC for the PDP because Buhari had serially broken his promises to Nigerians.
He recalled that he was at Ogbe Stadium, Benin during the campaign in 2015 where the president promised Nigerians a life of fortune but failed woefully to redeem his promises and brought untold hardship to poor people.
