The umbrella body of the All Atiku Support Groups on Friday applauded the choice of Governor Godwin Obaseseki as the flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in the forthcoming governorship election in Edo State

This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja by its Chairman, Chief Fabiyi Oladimej, describing it as a good omen for the much-awaited victory for the Party

According to the statement, “The AASG on behalf of our Leader His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, members across the country and the globe Edo State, congratulated Governor Godwin Obaseki on his victory at the PDP primaries election. It has been a long and tough journey for him

The group also appreciated the party leadership at both the National and State levels and all those who made efforts to ensure that the party had smooth and rancour-free primaries most especially, the three aspirants that agreed to step down for Governor Obaseki in the interest of Edo State.

“The AASG commends the National Working Committee of our party for showing leadership and capacity. A party like the APC that lacks the capabilities to manage its internal affairs and crisis can not manage the country affairs well, as a result, has no business being in power

“We also express our appreciation most importantly to the three aspirants that agreed to step down for Governor Obaseki.”

AASG urged the good people of Edo state to vote en masse for the PDP and returned Gov. Obaseki at the general election so that he could continue the good works he was doing in the State.
