Delta State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Dr Kingsley Ashibogwu, who was fingered in the killing of a deputy director in the ministry, Mr Unity Adeda, allegedly by his aides, has finally been arrested.
The police arrested Dr Ashibogwu alongside three other suspects in connection with the case.
The police image maker in the state, SP Edafe, disclosed this in a statement, saying the arrest brings the number of persons currently in police custody in connection with the investigation to five.
According to him, the command has consequently launched a manhunt for the two key suspects, Mrs Clementine Ufuoma, Director of Basic and Secondary Education, and Clement Apia, the driver to the Commissioner for Secondary Education, whose presence is required to further the investigation.
Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, Samuel E. Erale, has urged the two suspects, wherever they may be, to make themselves available to the police without further delay.
The CP reiterated that the investigation would be pursued thoroughly, impartially and professionally, assuring the family of the deceased and members of the public that due process would be followed and anyone found culpable would be brought to justice in accordance with the law.
