Renowned northern billionaire, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, has donated N1.5 billion to support victims of the devastating flood in Maiduguri, Borno.
Dantata, 96, made the donation during a visit to the Borno State Government House on Tuesday, where he condoled with Governor Babagana Zulum and the people of Borno.
The elder statesman also lamented the worsening economic conditions in the country, urging political leaders and elites to repent and fear Allah in their dealings.
Governor Zulum expressed deep gratitude for Dantata’s generosity, describing the visit as a “beacon of hope” for the people of Borno.
“This donation follows a similar gesture by Dantata’s nephew, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, who contributed N1 billion to assist flood victims,” Zulum said.
