CUSTECH lecturer killed by hit and run driver in Kogi

The entire community of the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, has been thrown into mourning over the sudden death of Mr Femi Adegboye, a lecturer in the Faculty of Science, Department of Mathematics and Statistics.

In a statement on Tuesday, Balogun Omeiza David, Head, Public Relations Unit, CUSTECH, Osara, said his sudden death occurred on September 9, 2023, as he was waiting to board a taxi from Kaduna Junction along the Lokoja/Abuja Motorway to Osara, his place of work.

According to reports, a hit-and-run vehicle was said to have badly cleared him off the road, which eventually led to his death.

The Vice Chancellor of CUSTECH, Osara, Engr. Prof. Salawu Sadiku has expressed his condolences to the immediate family of the late Mr Femi Adegboye and the entire CUSTECH community.

He said, “The death of Mr. Femi Adegboye came to us all as a rude shock, and we have no reason whatsoever to question God.

As much as we wanted to have a long-lasting working relationship with Mr Femi Adegboye, the result of his untimely death has cut off our relationships, and I must confess that this is a hard pill for us to swallow as an institution.”

Speaking further, Engr. Prof. Salawu Sadiku consoled the family that the late Mr Femi Adegboye left behind with comforting words for them to accept what has happened as the will of God and that no amount of tears and gnashing of teeth can bring him back to life.

He prayed that God Almighty would grant the soul of the departed eternal rest and give his grieving family and the CUSTECH community the fortitude to bear his irreparable loss.

The late Mr. Femi Adegboye was born on June 3, 1985. He is survived by his wife, children, and extended family members.

His burial service will be held according to Christian rites on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at his hometown in Egbe, Kogi State.
