THE Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed and Nigeria’s former Ambassador to Ethiopia, Otunba (Ambassador) Olusegun Akinsanya, are expected to attend the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) which will be held in Lagos.
NICO a parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, in furtherance of its mandate of effecting a sense of cultural direction in the citizenry, will organize a Public Lecture with the theme, “Culture as an Effective Tool for Foreign Relations.”
The lecture, scheduled to hold at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), Victoria Island, Lagos, on Tuesday, 14th May 2019, will be delivered by a senior research fellow at NIIA, Dr Sharkdam Wapmuk.

Lai Mohammed is expected to be the Special Guest of Honour while Otunba (Ambassador) Olusegun Akinsanya who is also the Vice President, Association of Retired Career will Chair the occasion.
The NICO Quarterly Public Lecture series was conceptualised as a vibrant quarterly programme to serve as a platform for intellectual discourse on culture; sensitize Nigerians to the strategic importance of culture in the promotion and sustenance of good governance and our nascent democracy.
The lecture is also targeted at effecting a sense of cultural direction in the citizenry to better appreciate the need for Nigerians to embrace our culture, cherish its inherent values and accord it pride of place in all aspects of our development agenda.
