Sokoto State Ministry of Health had on Tuesday recorded 10 new cases of coronavirus in the state.
A statement released on the official Twitter handle of the ministry on Wednesday confirmed that the number of active cases in the state now stands at 14.
The statement further disclosed that the total confirmed cases of coronavirus since the first index case in the state has jumped to 182, out of which 150 of them has successfully being treated and discharged accordingly.
Also, according to the ministry, the total number of tests done in the state stands at 10,475. While 10, 293 of the total test are negative, another 1,241 tests results are pending as at the time of filing this report.
The statement further disclosed that the total number of casualty recorded so far in the state is 17.
Meanwhile, the state Commissioner for Health, Dr Muhammed Ali Inname, has assured residents of the state that the ministry is working hard to curtail the spread of the virus.
He urged the general public, especially those in the rural areas to continue to observe all the laid down procedures against the spread of the virus.
He reassured that the state government is doing everything humanly possible to sustain and improve the health sector in the state for the betterment of the residents irrespective of their tribe.
