AN Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Oyo State has ordered the remand of two men at Agodi prison over alleged armed robbery.
The two, Ibrahim Abubakar, 22, and Amodu Janyu, 20, of no fixed address, are standing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy and armed robbery.
However, the plea of the defendants was not taken.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr O. Adisa, said the two should be held at Agodi prison pending advice by the state Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
Adisa, thereafter, adjourned the case till April 19, for mention.

Earlier, Police prosecutor, Opeyemi Olagunju, had told the court that Abubakar and Janyu, with others now at large, conspired to commit the offence.
Olagunju said: “The defendants while armed with cutlasses and other dangerous weapons allegedly attacked one Pereku Yokosi, and inflicted severe machete cuts on his body.
“The duo of Abubakar and Janyu allegedly dispossessed Yokosi of his Itel cell phone, valued at N10,000 and his Bajaj motorcycle worth N220, 000,” said the prosecutor.
The offence was said to have happened at about 10:30pm at a desolate spot near Budo Paul via Ijio, Okeho area, Oyo State.
Olagunju said the offence contravened section 1 (2) and section 6 (B) of the Firearms (Special Provision) Act Cap R II, Vol.14, Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 2004.
