A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) today issued a bench warrant against a former Petroleum Minister, Dauzia Lova Etete, better know as Dan Etete, Mumamuna Seidougha and Joseph Amarah.
Justice Abubakar, sitting at Gwagwalada, Abuja, issued the warrant with an order for the Interpol to intervene by arresting the three to be arraigned before the court in an ongoing case on the controversial Malabu Oil and Gas scandal.
The three are mentioned in a criminal trial involving a former Attorney-General of the Federation, Mohammed Bello Adoke SAN and six others.
The former AGF and the six other defendants, including Etete, Seidougha and Amarah, were arraigned on a 42-count charge bordering on receiving gratification, forgery, among others.
Adoke, Aliyu Abubakar and Rasky Gbinigie, Malabu Oil and Gas Limited; Nigeria Agip Exploration Limited; Shell Nigeria Ultra Deep Limited and Shell Nigeria Exploration Production Company Limited were arraigned before Justice Kutigi Thursday last week.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge proffered against them by the anti-corruption commission.
The warrant was issued by the court following an exparte application filed to that effect by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and argued by its counsel, Bala Sanga.
