We are used to seeing our favourite Nigerian celebrities attending red carpet events and shows looking prim and proper in from head to toe in designers and stylish getups, which, of course, is usually put together by their paid stylists who ensure they show up at events looking every inch a superstar that they really are.

They are usually garbed in labeled suits and ties, tight fitted dresses, shirts and pants and sometimes, super casuals.

However, judging from series of recent red carpet events, most of these celebrities are now dressing in a more relaxed and street-inspired styles also known as the classy ghetto fabulous.

This hip hop inspired style depicts that you don’t care what anybody thinks of what you are wearing and that you just came to the event to have fun and while giving the impression that “I am cool, fabulous sexy and have got swag!’

Before you rush to a boutique to emulate this trend, don’t make the mistake of thinking that this ghetto fabulous style is a cheapie. They are actually luxury designer labels that cost arm and leg. Trust Nigerian celebrities and their show-off attitude, they can’t be caught wearing knock offs or flimsy cheap ghetto inspired styles. Even a basic looking Tee shirt could be from a luxury designer based in Paris.
