The Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), on Friday night, organised an interdenominational Christmas concert tagged Maranatha Praise 201, in preparation for the Yuletide season.
Reverend Chris Anyanwu, Deputy Secretary-General of Catholic Secretariat and Chairman media/publicity Maranatha Praise 2019, who spoke with newsmen, said the praise night was organised to thank God as the year comes to an end.
According to him, since it is happening within the period of advent, it was an avenue for them to prepare themselves spiritually for the coming of Jesus Christ.

“The word Maranatha is a Latin phrase which means ‘come Lord Jesus’. This is a maiden edition of the programme. It is going to be a yearly event. The aim of the concert is to preach the Gospel of Christ through music.
“It is also to make Christianity more viable and to foster ecumenical relationship as well as to reach out to the poor and needy, as much as possible, as we can during this period when gifts are exchanged.
“As part of our responsibility to ease transportation for some participants, free buses were made available for person who attended the programme from various destinations such as; Christ the King Parish, Kubwa, Holy Family Church Gwarinpa, amongst others,” he said.
The event featured renowned Gospel artistes such as Steve Crown, Buchi, Jude Nnam, Mercy Chinwo, Chioma Jesus and a host of others.
