I am madly in love with a very beautiful and nice young lady who unfortunately, is an epileptic. Apart from the embarrassment she normally puts me to during her attacks, I am worried if I or any of our children can also catch the disease. Please help me. I don’t want to lose this nice and very beautiful lady.

Please, go ahead and marry her. Apart from the fact that there are affordable and relatively safe drugs for the good management of epilepsy, the love and devotion that will come from the marriage will be more than any burden that your wife’s occasional seizures may bring. Although about 1 in every 10 children of Epileptics may end up also having Epilepsy, this should not deter you from marrying the woman you love. Try and seek more information on how to manage your wife’s condition by reading relevant literature and seeking the opinion of specialist doctors nearest to you.
