A G-Wagon on the campaign trail of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday rammed into a business container killing all four occupants in Idah.

The incident was said to have occurred in Idah the ancestral headquarter of Igala kingdom.

The G-Wagon was said to be a backup car to the candidate, Engineer Musa Wada.

The Chief Administrator of Idah Local Government, Chief Hilary Edime Amodu, however, frowned at the recklessness of drivers on the campaign trail.

A statement issued late Saturday night by Idachaba Muhammed, Media Aide to the Administrator stated that the accident happened Saturday afternoon.

It was however gathered that the driver of the G-Wagon and its occupants are in critical condition at an undisclosed hospital.

A witness who does not want his name in print said that the presence of men of security joint taskforce prevented the driver of the G-Wagon from being lynched.

“Luckily for the driver, men of security task for ran into the accident and rescued the driver from an angry mob who would have lynched him.”

However, the publicity secretary Musa Wada/Aro campaign organisation, Faruk Adejoh who confirmed the incident said two people died while one is critically injured and in the hospital.

“Yes there was an accident, a vehicle on the campaign trail vied off the road and ran onto a kiosk and killed two people while one other person is critically injured and receiving treatment in a hospital.”

He said that accidents do happen, ”but it was cheer mischief for anyone to ascribe it to recklessness, no one prays for such calamity.”

Efforts to get the police reaction was not successful as at the time of filing this report as calls put through to the state police commissioner rang out.
