Burna Boy joins Nollywood, sets to produce first movie

Grammy-winning artist Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, is making a significant leap into Nollywood.

He is set to debut as an executive producer with the upcoming film “3 Cold Dishes,” produced by Black Mic Mac.

Burna Boy will executive produce the film through Spaceship Films, a company he co-founded with his mother, Bose Ogulu.

The movie will also see co-production efforts from Black Mic Mac, Ifind, Alma Prods, Asurf Films, and Martian Network.

Directed by Asurf Oluseyi and written by Tomi Adesina, “3 Cold Dishes” is an intricate narrative that spans Nigeria, the Republic of Benin, and Côte d’Ivoire.

In an interview with Variety, director Asurf Oluseyi highlighted the dedication involved in bringing the film to fruition, stating, “This film is a testament to the strength and resilience of its characters, and it took us blood and sweat to get it to this stage.”

The movie features a star-studded cast, including Osas Ighodaro, Femi Jacobs, Wale Ojo, Ruby Akubueze, Brutus Richards, and several prominent actors from Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal.
