President Muhammadu Buhari
Kwara state chapter of the Buhari Support Organization (BSO), a campaign/mobilization group for the reelection of President Muhammadu Buhari, has said that 2019 election victory of the president a tacit approval of the All Progressives Congress (APC) programmes by Nigerians.
Speaking with journalists in Ilorin on Wednesday, the state coordinator of BSO, Hon. Tajudeen Asunnara, described the victory as a hard-won battle, assuring that the President would not let the people down.
Hon. Asunnara said that the President’s victory would only be meaningful when both executive and legislative arms of Kwara State government are piloted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) government, urging members to vote for APC candidates in the governorship and State Assembly elections come March 9, 2019.
“We thank all Kwarans for standing firm and showing love to President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term bid. Victory at the national level for President Buhari will only be meaningful if Kwara state government -executive and legislative are being piloted by a APC government. We, therefore, implore you all to come out enmasse to vote for our governorship candidate, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and all Kwara state House of Assembly candidates of APC”, he said.
Hon. Asunnara, who commended members and sponsors of the organization for actualizing the President’s victory against all odds and permutations of the opposition political parties, said that the people felt a sense of accomplishment.
“For the records, BSO in concert with other progressive organizations have not only uprooted the inefficient PDP government, but also have successfully proved beyond doubt that President Muhammadu Buhari is the engine room of political stability in Kwara state and Nigeria at large”, he said.
The group, which said that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s declaration of President Buhari as the winner of the election had silenced the opposition, also expressed confidence that the APC governorship and House of Assembly candidates in the state would emerge victorious at the coming elections elections.
“To this end, we acknowledge the BSO leadership at all levels for the effort put in place financially and morally to the success of free and fair election in Kwara state,” he said.
