President Muhammadu Buhari has announced the suspension from office, the chairman of the Special Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property, Mr Okoi Obono-Obla.
The suspension, according to the president will remain pending the conclusion of investigation on Obono-Obla by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC).
According to the announcement made in a tweet on the President’s verified Twitter account @NGRPresident, the suspension is with immediate effect.
The tweet reads: “President @MBuhari has directed the suspension from office, with immediate effect, of the Chairman of the Special Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property, Mr Okoi Obono-Obla.
“The suspension shall be in effect until the conclusion of ongoing @ICPC_PE investigations into a number of cases relating to Mr. Obono-Obla.”
