The recent attack on Garkida Community of Gombi Local Government of Adamawa State by traitorous Boko Haram group has attracted condemnation from some illustrious sons of the state.
Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, through his Twitter account, described the attack as unbecoming and cowardly.
He said: “The attack by Boko Haram against lives and properties of innocent Nigerians is unbecoming. My prayers are with the people of Garkida in my home state of Adamawa over the cowardly attack that happened over the weekend. May God give the affected families fortitude to bear the loss,” Atiku said.
On his part, senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District, Senator Ishaku Abbo, described the attack as an apostasy of a disloyal association that will never see the light of the day.
While condemning the attacks, Abbo called on Nigerians to unite in fighting all forms of insurgency under whichever guise.
The senator said Garkida Community and some communities in Michika and Madagali in recent times have witnessed serious attacks by the renegade Boko Haram group that would have been averted with a proactive security network.
He called on the government at all levels to renew commitment in ending the prolonged fight against the dreaded bunch of people who are messing up the image of the national security.
Meanwhile, chairman, House committee on foreign affairs, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub, commiserated with all those who lost loved ones and properties in the attacks at Garkida and other parts of his constituency.

He condemned the attack in which places of worship, houses, police station and lives destroyed.
He reassured the people and leaders at the different levels of the political ladder that he shall continue to do his best to ensure that the issue of insurgency is permanently rooted out in the country.
Yusuf who is the member representing Gombi/Hong Federal Constituency said he is persuaded that the recent upsurge in insurgent activities remain the dying struggles of a spent force.
“I call on our people to remain strong and resolute in the face of all that is happening. Surely, we shall overcome,” he said.
On his part, the aspirant for Adamawa central senatorial district, Engr Salihu Garban Mama, on his Facebook official page said: “May God Almighty bring succour and relief to the families affected by the senseless and criminal attack. And may God guide our leaders to see the need to treat Boko Haram war, not as a business for few to make blood money, but should be treated with all seriousness it deserves.”
