The deputy speaker of Benue State House of Assembly, Christopher Adaji, has been declared the winner of last Saturday’s supplementary elections in the state.
Announcing the results of the last Saturday supplementary election held in two polling units in Ohinmi state constituency, the collation officer, Professor Nicodemus Abulu, said that Adaji of PDP scored 6,742 to defeat his closest rival, Musa Allechenu of APC who polled 6,341 votes.
It will be recalled that the Appeal Court had in November 8th 2019, ordered a fresh election in two polling units including Agadagba and Onyagede-Icho in Ohimini state constituency.

Also recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday conducted the supplementary election in the affected two polling units.
Meanwhile, the state commissioner of police, Garba Mukaddas, said that four persons including a wife of a pastor were arrested for impersonation after they attempted to vote with someone else’s Permanent Voter Cards (PVC).
CP Mukkadas said that the suspects are now in police custody for further investigation, noting that if they are found wanting, they will be charged to court because the act contravenes electoral laws.
