…Runner up, King Stevie wins N2.5m
After months of heated competition, over 500 contestants fighting for the coveted ultimate prize, a Mikano Changan CS15, witnessed Benriffs clinch the keys to the vehicle while King Stevie walked away with the second prize of N2.5m. Rotimi Ige presents a summary of events and how Benjamin Omosevie emerged as the star boy of the season.
The curtains fell on a spectacular season of the Kiekie Unscripted Experience ‘The Big Stage’ on Sunday night, culminating in a breathless finale that saw multi-talented performer Benjamin Omosivie, popularly known as Benriffs, crowned the undisputed champion.
Out of an initial pool of over 500 ambitious contestants, Benriffs’ consistency and artistic depth won over the voting audience and judges alike. He walked away with the ultimate grand prize, a brand-new, ultra-modern Mikano Changan CS15 SUV.
The high-stakes finale also celebrated standout performer King Stevie, who clinched the first runner-up spot, securing a ₦2.5 million cash prize.
Week after week, the multi-layered elimination rounds tested the contestants’ adaptability, mental stamina, and ability to perform under the unpredictable pressures of an unscripted environment. Initially entering the competition as a dark horse, Benriffs underwent an exceptional artistic evolution. Whether delivering impromptu freestyles or executing complex group tasks under strict time constraints, his maturity consistently set him apart.
The tension dissolved into pure euphoria when the show’s creator and host, Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori (popularly known as Kiekie), announced Benriffs as the winner. Overwhelmed by the moment, the new champion fell to his knees in tears. The keys to the sleek Mikano SUV symbolised his official transition from a rising underdog to a certified star.
What distinguished this season of the Kiekie Unscripted Experience from traditional talent hunts was its refusal to stick to a single creative genre. The show forced contestants completely out of their comfort zones through multi-disciplinary trials.

A major highlight of the season was the intense culinary showdown. Judged by celebrity food icons including Hilda Baci and Folagade Banks (Mama Deola), the high-pressure cooking challenge became an instant viral sensation. In the end, Okoye Damian (Chef Damian) emerged as the culinary champion, taking home millions in cash prizes and state-of-the-art cooking equipment.
Other key milestones leading up to the finale included challenges that paired emerging talents with industry icons like Broda Shaggi, Mr Macaroni, and Bisola Aiyeola, testing their comedic timing and improvisational skills.
These rigorous phases systematically narrowed the 500 contestants down to the final 23 who graced the stage on Sunday night.
Beyond the glitz and glamour, the core mission of the Kiekie Unscripted Experience is to provide a sustainable platform for emerging African talent. Speaking backstage, an emotional Kiekie emphasized her motivation for creating ‘The Big Stage’.
“The goal was never just to create a funny game show; the goal was to build a bridge,” Kiekie stated. “We wanted a launchpad where a young person from any corner of this country could stand on a premium stage and show the world what they are capable of. Watching Benriffs stand there today with those car keys makes every single sacrifice completely worth it.”
The scale of the production was heavily backed by corporate partnership, notably Mikano Motors. A representative from the automotive brand noted during the live broadcast that investing in the creative sector is an economic necessity.
“The creative industry is the new crude oil of Nigeria,” the representative remarked. “Benriffs has shown exceptional character and resilience. Handing over this Changan CS15 SUV is our way of saying Mikano believes in his journey.”
Co-hosted by comedian Kenny Blaq, the star-studded finale attracted the upper echelon of the African entertainment ecosystem. Industry heavyweights in attendance included Bovi, IK Osakioduwa, Stan Nze, Jessica Obasi, Kamo State, Do2dtun, Aisha Lawal, Taaooma, VJ Adams, Osas Ighodaro, and veteran actors Femi Adebayo and Muyiwa Ademola.
Media personalities praised the show’s blueprint, noting that its authentic, homegrown format proved Nigerian media can capture global imagination without relying on foreign franchises. With a successful season wrapped, Benriffs steps into the spotlight not just as the driver of a luxury vehicle, but as a newly minted ambassador for creative excellence.
