Bayelsa gov race: why I am the best candidate — Agbedi
The member representing Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency of Bayelsa State, in the House of Representatives, Hon. Fredrick Agbedi on Wednesday declared that he remained the best candidate for the Governorship election slated for November in the state based on his wealth of experience, coupled with his attachment to the grassroots.
The governorship aspirant who will be contesting under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), made this known on Wednesday when he paid a courtesy visit to DOMMS Communication, Publisher of Nigerian Pilot Newspaper and Newsworld Magazine’s corporate headquarters in Abuja.
The lawmaker, who was a political adviser to the incumbent Governor Seriake Dickson, maintained that he was the most “fit and suitable”
candidate, as he knows how to generate funds to run affairs of the state rather than depending on federal allocations or bails out alone.
Hon Agbedi who spoke extensively on the dire need to create enabling environment to attract investors to the state stated that research, as well as vocational training and education, would form a critical part of his government if elected the state governor.
According to him, “if NLNG has three plants working in full capacity, Nigeria will be able to fund its budget without having to borrow.
“I am going round Bayelsa to say that the burning desire I have to serve Bayelsa must be realized in 2019. I am the only aspirant who
knows all the corners of Bayelsa state.
“I am conversant with the needs and aspirations of the people of Bayelsa state. Bayelsans are yearning for a man who resides in Bayelsa, someone that they can see at any time,” he added.
Earlier in his remarks, Publisher, Nigerian Pilot Newspaper, Prince Dennis Sami, who played host to Hon. Agbedi stated emphatically that
Bayelsa needed total overhauling owing to the many security challenges bedevilling the state.
Prince Sami, who doubles as the Group Chairman/Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper, while endorsing Hon. Agbedi for governor, further charged him to ensure he delivered on his mandates, especially on security issues and the improvement of the state’s Internally Generated
Revenue, IGR, as promised.
He also asked the aspirant to rejuvenate some of the dormant business sectors, adding that there is a lot to be accomplished in transforming
the economic situation of the state, especially by empowering its indigenes.

He said that Hon Agbedi was known for his good principles, ideologies and beliefs, which was the reason the company would canvas for his
emergence as the next governor of Bayelsa State.

the Pilot Newspaper.
