The Bauchi State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed the death of two persons in an auto crash that occurred on Sunday.

According to the RS12.1 Bauchi Sector Command Road traffic crash (RTC) report, the incident happened on September 7, 2025, at about 5:45 p.m. around Miri, along the Bauchi–Jos Federal Highway. It was reported at 5:50 p.m., while FRSC personnel arrived at the scene at 6:05 p.m.

The crash involved two commercial vehicles: a Toyota bus, ash in colour, with registration number GME 342 YX, and an Opel Vectra with registration number BLD 336 AA, driven by one Alhaji Abdu.

A total of 22 people were involved in the accident, comprising 20 male adults and two female adults. Three men sustained various degrees of injuries, while two others a female adult and a male child lost their lives.

The FRSC attributed the crash to overspeeding and a tyre burst, which led to a head-on collision.

Items recovered at the scene included a bag of clothes, 40 pieces of cow leg, and a small handbag.

The obstruction was promptly cleared by FRSC personnel, who coordinated the rescue operation under the leadership of MI-I A.H. Masu.

The injured victims were taken to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi, for treatment, while the police took custody of the corpses.
