AFTER series of controversies that trailed the conduct of the Bauchi state APC gubernatorial primaries, incumbent Governor of the state, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar has emerged winner of the exercise defeating three other aspirants who had earlier on described the exercise as a ‘charade’.
While declaring the results of the exercise at the APC State Secretariat, Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Professor Ahmed Bakori Mohammed declared that Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar polled a total of 75,086 votes to emerge winner of the contest.

The Electoral committee chairman further said that former Minister of Police Affairs, Dr Yakubu Ibrahim Lame polled a total of 3,988 votes, former Minister of State for Health, Professor Mohammed Ali Pate polled a total of 2,886 while a former Commissioner, Captain Muhammad Bala Jibrin polled a total of 2,539 votes.
He further declared that out of the total votes cast during the exercise which was 87,312, a total of 1,004 votes were invalid while a total of 1,686 were unused and 23 ballot papers were damaged, he then declared that, “by the authority vested on me as the chairman of the Bauchi state APC gubernatorial primaries electoral committee, I hereby declared Barr Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar as the winner of the Bauchi state APC gubernatorial primaries held on Monday, 1st October, 2018”.
