The profiles of two edibles of Babcock Investment Group (BIG), Babcock University’s wheat and white breads and bottle water, received a boost recently as they received the Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme (MANCAP) of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON).
The certificates were presented by the State Co-ordinator of SON, Ogun State, Mr Alewu Cherry Achema to the Group Managing Director of Babcock Investment Group (BIG), a subsidiary of the university, Professor Yetunde Makinde in Sagamu.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony in Sagamu, Mr Achema commended the university for investing so much efforts and hardwork towards getting the certificates.
He, however, warned that the organisation reserves the right to withdraw them if standards were found to have been compromised in future.
He urged the management of Babcock University to always use the SON logo on the products for which they were certified from now on.
“I know you would not allow the parameters for which the certificates were given to fall,” he charged.
Achema also thanked officials of Babcock Investment Group for their cooperation during the period of screening and testing of the products.
He said with these certificates BIG was free to go on air to let the whole world know that Babcock water and bread are quality products.
Responding, an elated Group Managing Director of Babcock Investment Group, Professor Yetunde Makinde expressed her delight that the certification eventually fell through after long years of hard work.
She assured that Babcock Investment Group would be unrelenting in its task at ensuring the products win more accolades in the area of quality.
