Fast-rising singer cum producer, Opeyemi Abiodun, popularly known as Pop Boy, has said an end has come to struggling up-and-coming artistes who later resort to committing suicide.
He spoke recently with newsmen after the kick-off of ‘Murder The Beat Wake Up The Cash’, a platform to further showcase young talents and reward them at the end of contest online.
“After the painful death of Opeyemi, popularly known as Pelepele, my management, Be Known Entertainment, and I, having thought about it deeply, decided to come up with ways to give hope to up-and-coming artistes with talents that need to be heard and known.
“As a musician too, I know how it feels to have sleepless nights in the studio, looking for money to promote at the end of the day. So, we started by using our to encourage artistes, we subsidised the fee to help them promote their songs if they don’t have money,” he said.
Speaking extensively on the most recent idea, Murder The Beat Wake Up The Cash, he said the production part of his brand – Pop Sound Studios, created the idea for artistes to thrive and be known.
