Men of the 33 Brigade Command of the Nigerian Army, Bauchi State, have killed three suspected kidnappers and also rescued three girls in their custody in Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The Commandant Operation Flush Ningi, Major Boyi Uba, who disclosed this to newsmen in Bauchi,  said the suspects were gunned down in an exchange of fire while other suspects escaped with gunshot wounds.

“After we received intelligence information from our informant around 2:00 p.m, on Saturday, we took permission from our Brigade commander, then we swung into action. But the suspects on sighting us opened fire and three of them were gunned down and other sustained inquiries,” he said.

Major Uba said no soldier died during the encounter with the gunmen, which he said, lasted several hours in the bush of Dutshen Dumbura in Ningi Local Government Area of the state.

According to him, the items recovered from the suspects were two AK-47 rifles, one Pump Action, several  rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, two motorcycles and two handsets.
