Anambra guber: We are ready to take over from Obiano in 2021, PDP, APC boast

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People Democratic Party (PDP), in their separate interview with Tribune Online in Awka, the Anambra State capital, on Sunday, said their party is intact and ever ready to takes over power from Governor Willie Obiano of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) led administration in the state, come 2021 governorship election.

The state chairman of APC, Chief Basil Ejidike, while speaking with our correspondent via telephone, on the rumour making round that the Anambra state chapter of the APC, is involved in leadership crisis, maintained that what happen in the just concluded governorship election in Bayelsa State, where the APC candidate, Mr David Lyon, was declared winner, coupled with the ongoing projects of the APC led federal government across the South East, South-South regions, showed that APC has 90 per cent chances of winning Anambra undisturbed.

“Please, tell the world that the Anambra APC leadership is very much intact, no crisis, the chairman stated.

“I am assuring the National Working Committee (NWC) of APC, leaders and elders of the party in the state and supporters that the party under my watch will win Anambra in landslide victory,” he added.

Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu, on his part, said with the poor performance of the current administration of the ruling party APGA in the state, the electorates have known that the PDP is the only party in the election that can lead them to their promised land.

He said with the calibres of aspirants vying under the party platform, in the likes of Dr Obiora Okonkwo, Senator Uche Ekwunife, Dr Godwin Maduka, Mr Godwin Ezeemo, Transcorp President, Chief Izigbo, Hon Chris Azobugu, among others, is a signal to other political parties contesting the election that no vacancy in Anambra state government house.

“So, for your information, we have no crisis, the state chapter of PDP is intact and more united than ever and that is how it will be till INEC declares the party winner of the contest,” he boosted.
