The Anambra State Commissioner of Police (CP), Mustapha Dandaura on Tuesday ordered with immediate effect, the arrest of any driver of commercial vehicle including shuttle bus or keke found operating with tinted glasses in the state.
The CP also ordered that such vehicles be impounded by the Police.
In a statement issued to newsmen in Awka, by the Command PPRO, SP Haruna Mohammed, the CP said information at the disposal of the state Command revealed that criminals are using commercial vehicles especially shuttle buses and keke NAPEP with tinted glasses and thick curtains which shield their interiors.

It stated that the tinted vehicles are prevalent in Awka, Onitsha, Ekwulobia, Oko and other densely populated areas to rob unsuspecting passengers and dispossess them of their valuables without being detected by law enforcement agencies.
He said the Command has commenced intensive stop-and-search operations to enforce this order.
He enjoined residents in the state to avoid patronising tinted buses/keke with curtains in order not to fall victim of one chance operators.
