Anambra 2021: Select your guber candidates from South, Ohaneze tells political parties

The Anambra state President of Igbo Socio-Cultural organisation, Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Demian Okeke-Ogene, has appeal to all political parties who will participate in the forthcoming 2021 governorship election in the state to choose their candidates and flag bearers from Anambra South Senatorial District to further consolidate the gains of the zoning formula as a permanent policy in Anambra political system.

Addressing newsmen on it plans ahead of the polls at the organization state headquarters in Awka, on Monday, Chief Okeke-Ogene maintain that with the victory of Governor Willie Obiano in the November 2017 governorship election, the State will shift the Governorship position to Anambra South, urging all political parties and other relevant stakeholders to back a peaceful shift of power from Anambra North Senatorial District to South come 2021 for the sake of peace and unity.

He said within three years of existence, Ohaneze Ndigbo has achieved her vision and mandate in sorting out things that hinder the progress of the state calling on Ndigbo to learn patience and respect for each other which he noted is a tool for success.

He commended Governor Obiano’s administration for maintaining industrial harmony through regular and prompt payment of salaries, entitlements and promotion of workers’ welfare even as he said that the twenty million naira community choose your project initiative programme and stipends paid to town Unions by the government have made the town Union viable fourth tiers of government.

The National President of Anambra State Association of Town Unions, Chief Alex Onukwue, who also speak briefing on the development, said that their primary objective is to promote the wellbeing, peace and progress of its citizens and that zoning has helped them in the state to achieve electorate success during the last election.
