PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has been urged to always follow Federal Character in his appointment into public offices.
The National Chairman of the Association of Youths for Justice and Equal Rights, Comrade Julius Omotayo, who gave this advice in Abuja, said the association would soon mobilize Nigerians to address issues of bad leadership in the country.
He said the association would partner with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other stakeholders in sensitization of electoral process, and ensure a free and fair election in the 2019 general elections.
According to him, the association will soon organize symposia on issues related to human rights, transparency, accountability and equality among others in pursuance of its objective.

“We will address the issues of bad leadership or governance in the country, election malpractices, such as underage voting, recycling of old leaders, expensive expression of interest forms by political parties and what we call political prostitution amongst others.
“This country is endowed with human and material resources, yet we are not advancing in our socio-economic development. Nigeria had hosted several national conferences to address the problems affecting us as a country and with proactive resolutions that have not seen the light of the day,” he stated.
He said the association was set to ensure equality and give legal aid to the poor and oppressed, saying it would also protect individuals from all forms of abuse physical or psychology regardless of their race, age, gender, ethnicity, religion and nationality.
