The Department of the State Security Services on Tuesday arraigned Kabiru Muhammad, the mastermind of the news on the purported wedding of President Muhammadu Buhari to Sadiya Umar Farouq before a Kano Magistrate court siting in Normans land.
It would be recalled that Muhammad had last year allegedly circulated a fake wedding card of Buhari’s to Sadiya Farouq who is the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management & Social Development.
The purported wedding also attracted reaction from different quarters.

The charge sheet against the accused showed that he is facing a two-count charge bordering on defamation and injurious falsehood contrary to section 392 and 393 of the Kano Panel Code.
Muhammad was brought to court by the DSS amidst tight security.
Muhammad is facing a maximum of three years imprisonment without an option of fine if he is found guilty of the offence.
Investigation, however, revealed that the government is not much worried about Muhammad’s actions but the government wants to use his trial and conviction to serve as a deterrent to other social media abusers.
