Crisis is brewing in Ewu, Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State, following the suspicion that some herdsmen were involved in the killing of two elderly women last week.
A search party had discovered the bodies of two women in different farmlands in the community after they did not return home from farm.
The women were also reportedly raped before they were killed, while a son of one of the women alleged that the person who picked her mother’s phone spoke Hausa.
Names of the women were given as Christiana Ikheloa and Fatima Emoyon.
Daughter of Fatima Emoyon, Patience, alleged that cows were seen at a location where her mother’s body was discovered.
She appealed to the state government and the police to fish out her mother’s killers.
Spokesman of the Edo State police command, Moses Nkombe, confirmed the discovery of the bodies of the women in the farmlands.
