An entrepreneur and philanthropist, Engr. Henrich Bankole Akomolafe, has congratulated Muslim faithful in Nigeria and around the world on the occasion of this year’s Eid-El-Kabir.
As Muslims celebrate the sacred festival with prayers, feasting, and time with loved ones, Akomolafe called on the faithful to look beyond the festivities.
In a statement he personally signed on Saturday, he solicited obedience to the will of Allah and a willingness to make necessary sacrifices for personal spiritual growth and the betterment of Nigeria.
He said, “Eid-El-Kabir, also known as the “Festival of Sacrifice,” commemorates the obedience of Prophet Ibrahim to Allah by his willingness to sacrifice his son, Ismail. This powerful act of faith and submission to the divine will is a core tenet of Islam.
“Nigeria is a deeply spiritual nation, but those powerful lessons of sacrifice and total commitment would be wasted if we did not emulate the Prophets.
“We must each make the sacrifices required to rid our country of bad leadership, corruption, economic inequality, and other ills that hold us back.”
He therefore called on all to rededicate themselves to the highest values with unwavering obedience to Allah and a personal commitment to the sacrifices Nigeria requires to prosper.
Akomolafe also asked that during this Eid period, Muslim faithful and all Nigerians pray for wisdom and the right action for leaders at the federal and state levels.
“May God continue to guide them to serve the best interests of our people and nation,” he said.
