Yoruba Leader, Prof. Banji Akintoye, made good on his promise on Thursday in Lagos as he constituted an Executive Council to steer the affairs of Yoruba World Congress (YWC), an umbrella body of all Yoruba socio-cultural, self-determination and advocacy groups in and beyond Nigeria.
Akintoye announced the membership on the council at a “Policy and Strategy Session for Yoruba future” which took place in Lagos, while the session witnessed the formal ratification and adoption of a 52-page constitution drafted to guild the day-to-day governing of YWC.
According to a release made available to newsmen in Lagos, membership of the Council include Professor Anthony Kila, as his Secretary-General while a former Chairman and CEO of Daily Times Conglomerate, Chief Tola Adeniyi, was named Communications Secretary, with Dr Amos Arogundade Akingba emerging the Financial Secretary.

The Chairman of Space FM, Otunba Deji Osibogun, was named as the Organizing Secretary, Evangelist Kunle Adesokan (Head of Security and Intelligence), Otunba Shade Olukoya (Welfare Secretary and Women Leader), Dr. Akin Adejuwon (Coordinator of Youth Empowerment Initiatives), Comrade Victor Olu Taiwo (Director of Contacts and Mobilization), Mr. Maxwell Adeyemi Adeleye (Director of Media and Communications).
Others are; Otunba Dolapo Balogun (Director of Finance) and Princess Ronke Akinlolu (Director of Welfare and Women Affairs).
While promising to expand the management council as occasion and events demands, Akintoye also announced the appointment of a five-man Strategy, Policy and Planning committee to work with him and other officers of YWC to ensure that targeted objectives of the organization were effectively achieved.
The committee members are; Prof. Femi Olufunmilade of Igbinedion University, Tilewa Osifeso, Architect George Akinola, Dr Akin Fapounda and Mr Babatunde Jones.
