At the launching of the initiative at an impressive ceremony held at La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resorts, Ikegun Village, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos in June 2017, with the Ethiopian Ambassador in Nigeria, the Ethiopian Airline Regional Manager, Travel agencies, media and stakeholders, Dr Akinboboye made known that the second leg of the initiative would be held in Ethiopia in the month of August with pomp and ceremony of trans-regional colouration.
Standing on this point of promise, Dr Akinboboye packaged a cultural-tourism ensemble which include Anu Ekwe, the first African lady to beat Ekwe drum, Olo Omidan Bata, another first African lady to beat bata, Ara, the lady that beat the sense into the talking drum which makes sound like the strike of thunder, Olohun iyo, African’s best sonorous voice soloist stormed Debre Damo Hotel, Addis Ababa on Saturday, 29 July, to the second leg of the launching of Destination Al–Nejashi in conjunction with O ‘Clock General Trading Company, Addis Ababa.
Acting Nigerian Ambassador in Ethiopia, His Excellency, Godfrey Odudigbo, Dr Remi Duyile, the first African lady to sit on the Board of Bank of America, Miss Eva Thorne, Chief Executive Officer, Greyhound, US, Dr O Mihret, General Manager, Debre Damo Hotel, Mr Michal, Head of Branding and Publicity, Awassh Bank, Prince Adekunle Adeyemo, Head of Tigray Region and over 500 invited guests witnessed the spectacular performance of the artistes and message of continental building which was brilliantly delivered extempore by Dr Akinboboye.
“The cultural ensemble displayed an evergreen performance which memories will linger on”, said Haile Mark, a tour operator in Ethiopia, who confessed that “what first impressed us was that Lady Ara who distinctly used the talking drum to recite the Ethiopia national anthem as if someone was packaged inside. As if not enough, another lady wowed us all by her dexterity in beating another set of drums joined together which some of us were seeing for the first time, as we were applauding this slim pretty little girl on drums, another tall African queen walked to the platform and in sequence of music and songs electrifying the ambience with her terrific stoking of another drum planted or hung on a fork–stake. Marvellous show, awesome performance, good packaging and thinking. Glamorous style of telling the world that wonders of reality and nature is in Africa. Kudos to Motherland Beckons Nigeria and O’Clocks Investments, Ethiopia for this”.
Mr Mark said “ This continental building and cross–cultural tourism initiative as exposed here tonight has greatly kindled our interest to visit Nigeria, not for business, but purely on tourism activities. The package which we have seen now tells a lot about the quality of the tourism potentialities in Nigeria”.
Dr Duyile who addressed the guests made an inspirational testimony about the inherent positivity in the Continental building initiative of Destination Nejashi.
Dr Akinboboye said “we can no longer run away from the mission bestowed on us by Mother Africa at seeing to the unification and mixture of thoughts, ideas and cultural admixture for better understanding, harmonious cohabitation and economic integration for proper development and empowerment”.
He said, ‘This is just the beginning. This is just the commencement of an epic unification process, a revolutionary of ideas that will build Africa continent strong and stronger to withstand and rebuff impending cultural–history re-enslavement. With this on course and in sequence to the avowed mission of Motherlands Beckons, Africa indisputable status of the leaders of the continent is around the corner. Just a matter of a fleeting moment. With destination Al –Nejashi and others, we are getting there and will be there. Watch out”.
