Few hours after fourteen persons lost their lives in a ghastly motor accident In Osun state, a fresh lone incident of such was again recorded on Sunday along Gbongan- Osogbo road leaving two persons dead.
The incident occurred around 12:40 P.M of the day, claimed the lives of a female and male adult, part of the passengers that occupied the involved vehicle as a result of speed limit violation, tyre burst and loss of control of the driver.
Speaking on the incident, the state sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Public Relations Officer, Mrs Agnes Ogungbemi also hinted that, three of the Injured victims were taken by sympathisers to Iseoluwa hospital, Ode Omu before the arrival of the FRSC team, two other injured victims were taken to Ariremako hospital, Gbongan by FRSC team while the corpses were deposited at OAUTH Morgue, Ile-Ife.
She gave the spot of the accident that involved a (GNN57XD: Wine Toyota Previa minibus ‘ commercial vehicle as Niger Cat Area, after Babalakin hall (5km from Sasa Bridge in Gbongan of Ayedaade local government area of the state.
The federal road officer who further revealed that, another accident that involved two vehicles occurred at Eleweran, ife- Osogbo road at 2.09 P.M of the same day, gave the involved vehicles makers as a truck with registration number KNT -245XP and a Mercedes Benz salon car with registration number, BM-307AKD.
Mrs Ogungbemi however said that nobody lost lives in the vehicles but two persons injured had been taken to the OAUTHC, Ile- Ife for medical attention.
She, therefore, charged motorists to be more safety-conscious during this festive period when the vehicular movement will be more on the highways.
