The Nigerian Air Force has inaugurated a committee to conduct a safety audit of its operational and engineering units.
This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday the Director of Public Relations and Information of the Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet.
According to him, “the committee is to, among other terms of reference, analyse safety reports from operational and engineering units, conduct safety evaluation of Nigerian Air Force units and recommend measures to enhance the safety of operations in the units.
He explained that the committee, which was constituted by the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, comprising both serving and retired senior officers and would conduct a safety audit of all Nigerian Air Force (NAF) operational and engineering units.
He further added that the committee would also interact with unit operational and technical personnel for views, observations and contributions on safety measures.
The Deputy Theatre Commander, Operation Hadin Kai, Air Vice Marshal Abraham Adole, is the chairman of the committee which is expected to submit its report not later than June 18.
