NIGER Delta human rights, peace and environmental advocate, Comrade Sheriff Mulade, has charged the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to vote out governors that say they cannot pay N30,000 minimum wage which the Federal Government is about to transmit which to the National Assembly for passage.
Comrade Mulade wondered why state governors will engage thousands of aides who receive 10 to 20 times of the new minimum wage without doing anything, no schedule, and yet unable to pay their workers pittance of N30,000.
He added that every month, governors’ aides get alert as first line charge even before workers despite being ghost workers which, he claimed, should never be allowed by labour worldwide.
He called on the organised labour to sign a concrete agreement with the governors promising to pay the minimum wage in order to keep them on their feet so that it doesn’t become a mere saying.

The environmentalist advised Nigerian workers to use their vote wisely and make sure they decide their future to a logical conclusion this time around.
He challenged the organised labour to press on with their demand, noting that some of the governors who can’t pay the new minimum wage are “wicked and do not want workers to see the light of the day.”
He also urged the organised labour to be wary of any governor that cannot take workers’ welfare as their priority.
“It is worthy of note that these are the same governors and political office holders most of the workers’ aid and cover-up in corruption but refuse to pay just N30,000 only as minimum wage, but can waste our resources on political gatherings, godfathers, family and associates,” he enthused.
