The Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. (Dr.) Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira, has won the Nigeria Grassroots Leadership Merit Award.
Apatira gathered highest number of votes from the public across the 774 local governments to emerge winner of the prestigious leadership award held in Abuja.
Speaking at the reception, Balogun Olumide, the Chief Press Secretary to the council chairman, said the award was in recognition of the exceptional leadership and dedication to grassroots development and governance.
He said, “ The award was presented by a renowned Nigerian organization which focused on recognizing public officials who have made impactful contributions to their communities.
The recognition of Itire-Ikate LCDA chairman came in light of his numerous achievements in transforming the Itire-Ikate LCDA, particularly in infrastructure development, healthcare, education, and welfare services.

His leadership has been pivotal in improving the quality of life for residents through several initiatives that focus on the development of the grassroots and workforce of the district.
On staff motivation, the chairman’s recent decision to triple the monthly economic enhancement cash palliatives is a testament to this.
