At least, thirty people were killed on Friday when suspected bandits attacked Tsauwa and Dankar villages in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
About twenty-one people, majority of whom were old people and children were killed in Tsauwa
Houses, animals, and foodstuffs were razed in the attack.

On Saturday, the Katsina State Police Commissioner, Sanusi Buba, was visited the two communities for an on-the-spot assessment of the damage done during the attack.
The police chief who confirmed that thirty people were killed by the bandits said, “I still find it surprising that whatever could have been the motive, these people ( suspected bandits) could still carry out these dastardly acts. We are, however, after them.
“Twenty-one people were killed in Tsauwa while nine were killed in Dankar.”
Tribune Online observed that security in the two villages has been beefed up in the aftermath of the attack.
Security personnel including police and the army as well as local vigilantes were sighted at different positions in the two villages on Saturday evening.
