It was gathered that the children met their untimely death when they were playing with their colleagues at the veranda of their apartment.

The children, who were said to be playing at the balcony of the house without an adult around, had contact with the burglary proof and we’re subsequently electrocuted.

The electrocuted siblings were identified as Blessed Adam (6), Elizabeth Adam (9), and John Oluwadare (15) while the name of their mother was given as Ms Elohor Gabriel.

Ms Gabriel, who’s in deep sorrow, expressed shock and disbelief at the tragedy while speaking to journalists on Tuesday.

The woman, who’s in her 30s, disclosed that she was out to buy bread for them when tragedy struck, adding that by the time she got to the hospital where the children were rushed to, they had already died.

“I went out to buy them bread, but when I returned, I saw people by my apartment and they told me what happened.”

“I immediately rushed to the hospital where my children were taken only to see their lifeless bodies,” she lamented in tears.

A witness of the incident at the sound of the presumed explosion said he and other villagers ran to the scene and found the victims transfixed lifeless on the electric cable.

Meanwhile, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Andrew Aniamaka, could not confirm the incident as of the time of filing the report.
