A 25-year-old man, Ayo Paul, on Saturday, allegedly committed suicide in Akure, Ondo State capital, by hanging himself in his one-room apartment.
A source within the community said Paul body was found in his room in Aule area of the state capital, on Saturday, when he failed to show up for the monthly sanitation exercise.
The source who expressed shock over the ugly incident described the deceased as a gentle and complete gentleman.
He said no one could fathom the reason behind the action of the young man.
He told TribuneOnline that Paul’s body was found by his landlord who opened his door when he did not see him on Saturday morning when it was time for the monthly environmental sanitation.
The source said, “Nobody could say the reason Ayo committed suicide because he was a gentleman and he never had an issue with anybody.
“It was his landlord that was looking for him when he did not see him on Saturday morning, but on opening his room, the landlord found his (deceased) lifeless body hanged. When the man (the landlord) saw him, he immediately raised the arm to other neighbors.”

Confirming the development, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Mr Femi Joseph, said the command had begun an investigation.
Joseph said, ” We are yet to know the reason for the deceased to have taken such action but we have commenced an investigation on the incident.”
