Appointed political officials from Cross River State have expressed their confidence in Governor Senator Bassey Edet Otu stating that there is no vacancy in Cross River government house.
They stated this during a meeting led by Barrister Ekpenyong Akiba, Special Adviser on General Duties and chairman of the Advisers’ Forum.
In a media interaction held at the Ernest Etim Bassey Press Center in Calabar, more than twenty aides praised the governor for his fair allocation of projects throughout the state, asserting that there will be “no vacancy in Peregrino” in 2027.
Akiba initiated the motion in recognition of Governor Otu’s accomplishments, particularly his focus on infrastructure development throughout the three senatorial districts and timely salary payments.

Raphael Adoka, Special Adviser on Project Monitoring and Evaluation, highlighted significant developments in the northern senatorial district, noting that major roads in Ogoja Local Government Area have been awarded for construction, easing business operations for farmers.
He also mentioned that the Obudu international cargo airport is 90% complete and poised to compete with world-class airports.
In Yala, a bridge to enhance connectivity has been contracted, and numerous healthcare centers have been renovated in the northern central district.
In the central senatorial district, Barr Gilbert Agbor, Governor Otu’s Special Adviser on Asset Management and Recovery, noted that the governor’s administration is ushering in significant advancements in infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, and rural electrification.
He pointed to the construction of a ₦470 million general hospital in Ikom as a crucial enhancement to healthcare accessibility, reducing the need for long-distance travel.
He also mentioned the revival of Songhai Farms in Etigidi and the Starch Processing Factory in Ochon, which are expected to stimulate local agricultural growth and job creation. Additionally, solar power initiatives in rural communities are improving security and supporting small businesses.
“With advancements in export crop farming, infrastructure upgrades, and revitalized industries, Governor Otu is paving the way for Cross River to emerge as an economic leader.
“The residents of the Central Senatorial District, and the entire state, eagerly anticipate the ongoing fulfillment of his commitments, transforming development from mere vision to tangible reality, he said.
In the southern senatorial district, Effiong Ekpenyong, Special Adviser on Events Management, highlighted significant accomplishments, such as providing scholarship funds for local students’ WAEC registration, full counterpart funding for Small Medium Enterprises, adaptable tax reforms, efforts to ease market congestion for improved access to resources, and requirements for local employment quotas imposed on investors.
He also mentioned the finishing of the Local Government Service Commission Secretariat and enhancements to the governor’s office complex, among other initiatives.
