The Commissioners from Plateau State have raised more than 60 million naira to purchase forms for Governor Simon Bako Lalong to contest for the Senate of the state’s Southern Zone senatorial district.
According to statement by Mr Yakubu Dati, the chairman of the Commissioner’s Forum of Plateau State, the Commissioners took the decision to honour their principal based on his numerous achievements and contributions to the state.
“Gov Simon Lalong has restored Plateau to it’s place of reckoning by promoting peaceful coexistence and developmental projects for the benefit of the common citizens irrespective of tribe, religion and creed” he said
The Commissioners further enumerated the leadership qualities of Gov Simon Lalong who, as the Chairman of Northern Governors Forum has promoted unity and accommodation amongst different spheres.
Dati said the senate position will enable the entire country to benefit from his demonstrated leadership potentials and enjoined the youths, women, elders, both appointed and elected beneficiaries to join other stakeholders who are meeting day and night key into the victory train.
He further added that the Commissioners have concluded plans to purchase the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms along with Prof Danladi Atu, the Secretary of the Government of the State (SGS) and the erudite Chief of Staff, Hon Noel Donjur on Thursday, in line with the APC guidelines released by the national secretariat.
