2019: Let’s strengthen Osun APC together, Ajibola Basiru tasks members
OSUN State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Osun Central, Dr Ajibola Basiru, has emphasised that his focus is to strengthen the party in the state beyond winning the senatorial election in the forthcoming elections, contending that such should also be the focus of members who loved the party genuinely.
Basiru made this commitment known when members of the Buhari New Media Center (BNMC) paid him a courtesy visit, saying that whoever loved the party and looked forward to benefitting from it should work for its success in all elections.
The APC senatorial candidate enjoined members of the BNMC to ensure that all National Assembly candidates fielded by the party win the coming polls to make President Muhammadu Buhari’s presidency frictionless.
He further enjoined them to also work for the emergence of all House of Assembly candidates on the APC platform in Osun to “make Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s eight-year tenure a huge success.”
The immediate past Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice harped on the need for members of BNMC to always use the Yoruba language in their campaign in the South West, stressing that they should be proud of the language and promote it.
In his remarks, Chairman, Osogbo South Local Government, Hon Abdul Hakeem Olaoye, urged the BNMC to ignore negative comments against APC candidates particularly SRJ and Buhari, saying they should stick to the party in the hope that the benefits would not elude committed party members.
In his own remark, Engineer Lekan Badmus advised the group to intensify a campaign of the party with its logo and slogan in order to avoid an unfortunate incident of void ballots since the ballot papers would feature parties’ logos, not individuals.
Earlier, the State Coordinator of BNMC, Akeem Yusuf, had appreciated Dr Basiru for his assistance all the time for sundry groups working for the party, just as he sought his further support to enable the group to succeed in its avowed commitment to Buhari and APC projects.
