2019: APC aspirants forum calls for calm among members who lost primaries

MembersALL Progressive Congress Aspirants Forum has called aggrieved members of the party who lost out during the party’s primary elections to remain calm as efforts were being made to address their petitions by the party leadership.

Addressing Journalists in Abuja, one of the leaders of the Forum, Yusuf Banki said they had reached out to the Presidency and other stakeholders in the party, and were assured that measures will be taken to address their grievances.

According to him: “The leadership and some critical stakeholders of the APC Aspirants Forum had serious engagements with some powerful elder statesmen, stakeholders and delegations from the Presidency to address the most serious grievances of our loyal and committed members of the forum across the country during the recently concluded primary elections.

“They requested that the Forum submit the petitions available to the committee to enable them to treat all the petitions based on merits and ensure justice prevails as directed by President Muhammadu Buhari.”

He noted that all our aspirants across the country collectively made huge sacrifices and contributed immensely to the success of the party and strengthened mass follower-ship that the party is enjoying today, adding that: “This political capital must be sustained and encouraged.”

He further noted: “we are assuring our members that nobody shall be used and dumped as used to the case in the past, and each every member will be carried along by the APC administration led President Muhammadu Buhari.

“In addition, in line with our party’s strong resolve, the increase in the participation of women and youths is the primary focus of the 2019 elections to ensure that we continue to strengthen our democracy. Majority of the victims of injustice and impunity during the recently concluded primary election are the women and youths.

“We are appealing to all our aggrieved members across the country to be calm, remain steadfast, committed and loyal to Mr President as we are working closely with him to address our grievances.”
