RELATIVES of eight persons kidnapped at the Nigerian-Turkish International School, last Friday, have confirmed contacts by the kidnappers.
On Sunday evening, father to one of the kidnapped female students of the school (names withheld), told the Nigerian Tribune that he like others, had been contacted by the kidnappers, demanding N100 million on her daughter.
Relatives of the abductees, were said to have been individually contacted, with ransom also individually demanded.
A total of N1.2 billion was said to have been placed on the eight abductees by the kidnappers.
While the three female students and three other Nigerian staffers of the school were said to have attracted N100 million ransom demand each, the two Turkish nationals in custody reportedly have N300 million each on their head.
The father of the abducted student told the Nigerian Tribune that negotiations were on with the kidnappers, but passionately pleaded that his name and family should be protected, considering the delicate nature of the saga.
He further disclosed that negotiations had been testy with the kidnappers, who reportedly used the mobile lines of the abductees, to call their relatives for the ransom.
When contacted, the Public Relations Officer, Ogun Police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi said police were on the matter.
It was learnt that the kidnappers were very angry with relatives of the abductees, for being slow in meeting their demands, but talks were said to still be ongoing with the kidnappers.
When a senior security officer who has connection with the case was called, he pleaded that due to the intricacies involved in the matter, he should be spared any official comments.
