Tips to keep your jewellery sparkling ·Are you man enough to wear a skirt?

Jewellery is worn by millions of people every day, but only few know how they can preserve these treasures. Here are some basic guidelines to consider when wearing jewellery

  • Put jewellery on after applying makeup – Cosmetics, hairspray, perfumes and lotion can contain chemicals that can often damage jewellery. Putting jewellery on after applying these materials will limit exposure to it and curb any potential damage.
  • Don’t wear jewellery in swimming pools and spas – Chlorinated water can react on metals found in jewelry causing colour changes and even structural damage. As a result, it’s a good idea to remove your jewellery before entering the pool or spa
  • Don’t store your jewellery next to other jewellery pieces as this can cause scratches – You can also individually wrap your jewellery in soft tissue paper or use jewellery pouches for each piece.
  • Don’t wear it when you’re doing rough work or going to the gym – Even though a diamond is durable, it can be chipped by a hard blow.
  • Don’t leave your ring on the rim of a sink when you remove it to wash your hands- It can easily slip down the drain.

Are you man enough to wear a skirt?
We are used to the notion that only the female wear skirts, while the thought of men roaming the streets in one is just plain odd!

Of late, men’s fashion has embraced a new trend, as some men are now hanging up their pants and trading them for… well, skirts?

Some international male rappers like Kanye West, R. Kelly, P Diddy and others have been spotted sporting a ‘man-skirt’.

Nigerian artistes like Iyanya, Whizkid and Praise caused social media uproar, when they were spotted on Instagram rocking what seems to look like a skirt paired over a trouser.

RMD and Don Jazzy were also spotted in Scotland, for a Jonny Walker event wearing plaid skirt called kilt, apparently paying homage to the Scottish tradition.
