StarTimes, a digital television network company, has launched its DTT platform in Daura, Katsina State. The unveiling of DTT decoder was noted to be a remarkable event for the people of the area as NTA Startimes network brought its network to the historical centre of heritage of Northern Nigeria.
In his opening speech, the representative of the Director-General of NTA, Mr Maxwell Loko said, “NTA StarTimes is present in about 80 cities in Nigeria and Daura, as the historical cradle of the North, is not left out.
“Now the good people of Daura will have the opportunity to enjoy digital life; with small amount of money they can watch beautiful content that will educate and entertain them via numerous TV stations especially NTA Hausa, Farin Wata TV, Dadin Kowa, Liberty TV and so many other interesting channels. Programmes such as NTA parliament, a platform that enables the people interact with their representatives and other channels of interest that serve Indian movies, news and current affairs are available for viewing.
“StarTimes network in its latest move is now shifting from the urban centres to the rural areas so as to sustain the consumers’ enjoyment of digital entertainment,” he concluded.
Representative of National Broadcasting Cooperation (NBC), Mohammad Alhaji Nanu expressed his delight with the coming of StarTimes to Daura. Mohammad said the initiative will enable the people to be part of global entertainment and news.
The event was heralded with a cultural display and drama, while popular comedian, Mr MC Tagwaye added colour to the event as he imitated President Muhammadu Buhari in voice as he delivered a speech urging the people of Daura to patronize StarTimes, stressing its affordability and quality.
StarTimes lovers expressed their excitement with the coming of StarTimes to Daura. After sharing delightful experiences in using StarTimes, they emphasised the network as one of the best DTT decoders for family entertainment and urged non-subscribers to join in the train.
Organisers of the event, the management of Farin wata TV under the leadership of Umar Faruk Musa, expressed their readiness to keep delivering interesting Hausa movies and documentaries for the enjoyment of the subscribers.
