THE police in Ogun State have arrested one Michael (surname withheld) for being in possession of military uniform, a locally-made pistol and a parcel suspected to be Indian hemp.
In a statement by the acting Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abimbola Oyeyemi, on Sunday, the suspected robber was arrested in Sagamu area of the state.
The PPRO disclosed that the suspect was arrested during a police routine patrol led by the Divisional Police Officer of Sagamu, Moses Aduroja, while conducting a ‘stop and search’ on motorists.
The suspects, with two others at large, were said to have jumped out of their car when they sighted the police.
Oyeyemi said that the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, had ordered the transfer of the suspect to the state Criminal Investigation and Intelligent Department for further investigation.
He, however, warned men of the underworld to relocate from the state, as the command would not leave any stone unturned in order to rid the state of crime and criminality.
